This Employment or Volunteer Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between Rim Locals, its affiliates, and the individual ("Team Member") who has agreed to contribute to the activities of Rim Locals. This Agreement outlines the terms and conditions under which the Team Member will participate in Rim Locals' programs and initiatives, either as an employee or volunteer.
1. Engagement
The Team Member agrees to provide services to Rim Locals as either an employee or volunteer, depending on the arrangement made between the parties. The Team Member will perform the duties assigned by Rim Locals, which may include, but are not limited to, project management, marketing, content creation, customer support, technical assistance, or other tasks relevant to the operation of the platform.
2. Status of Team Member
- Volunteer Status: If the Team Member is volunteering, they understand that this is an unpaid position, and they will not receive financial compensation for their services. However, volunteers may be eligible for certain benefits such as learning opportunities, skill development, and networking opportunities.
- Employee Status: If the Team Member is hired as an employee, they are entitled to compensation as agreed upon at the time of hiring. Employees will be subject to Rim Locals' standard payroll and tax processes.
3. Duties and Responsibilities
The Team Member agrees to:
- Perform tasks and duties: The Team Member will perform the tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Rim Locals. These may change over time based on the needs of the platform.
- Adhere to timelines: The Team Member will complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner and notify Rim Locals if there are delays or issues preventing completion.
- Work collaboratively: The Team Member will collaborate with other team members, share ideas, and contribute to the success of the team.
- Uphold Rim Locals’ values: The Team Member will abide by Rim Locals' core values, including professionalism, respect, and commitment to the local community.
4. Terms of Employment or Volunteering
The Team Member’s involvement with Rim Locals may be ongoing or for a specified period, depending on the needs of the organization. Either party may terminate the agreement at any time with appropriate notice (as defined below).
- Notice Period: Either party may terminate this agreement by providing a [specified notice period, e.g., two weeks] written notice.
- Termination for Cause: Rim Locals reserves the right to terminate this agreement immediately if the Team Member engages in conduct that is harmful to the organization or violates any of Rim Locals' policies.
5. Confidentiality
The Team Member agrees to:
- Maintain confidentiality: The Team Member will not disclose any confidential or proprietary information of Rim Locals to third parties without written consent, both during and after their engagement with the platform.
- Respect intellectual property: The Team Member acknowledges that all intellectual property, including but not limited to marketing materials, platform code, designs, and customer data, is the property of Rim Locals and cannot be used for personal gain.
6. Compensation and Benefits
- Volunteer Position: Volunteers will not receive any monetary compensation for their work. However, volunteers may be eligible for certain non-financial benefits, including recognition, skill development, and networking opportunities.
- Employee Position: Employees will be compensated according to the terms agreed upon at the time of hire.
7. Work Environment and Equipment
Rim Locals will provide the necessary resources and tools required for the Team Member to perform their duties, depending on their role.
8. Indemnification
The Team Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rim Locals, its officers, employees, and affiliates, from and against any and all claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from the Team Member’s actions while performing duties under this Agreement.
9. Conflict of Interest
The Team Member agrees not to engage in any activities that could conflict with the interests of Rim Locals. This includes, but is not limited to, working for a competitor or disclosing confidential business information.
10. Amendments
Rim Locals reserves the right to modify or update this agreement as necessary. Any amendments to this agreement will be provided to the Team Member in writing, and they will be required to acknowledge and agree to any new terms before continuing with their work.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of [Insert State]. Any disputes arising out of this agreement will be resolved in the appropriate courts of [Insert County/State].
12. Acknowledgment
